Allen Johnson
I was saved by the grace of God in 1977 in Brazil where my parents, Dan and Gerri Johnson, have been missionaries since 1974. I praise the Lord for my godly parents and the influence they have had on my life. I surrendered to full-time Christian service as a teenager, attended Hyles-Anderson College, and later received a B.A. in Foreign Languages, International Studies from Purdue University in 1997. I received my M.A. degree in Pastoral Studies from Landmark Baptist College in May of 2003.
Allen has now spent over two decades in full-time Christian service. He joined Wings Bearing Precious Seed in 2006 and became the director in 2010. In addition to shipping Scriptures all over the world, Allen has had the opportunity to preach (in English, Spanish, and Portuguese) and see souls saved in over 25 different nations. The Lord has blessed him with a wonderful family. Allen and Dema were married in 1996. Dema has been a tremendous help meet in the ministry and homeschooled their two children, Brittney and Nathaniel, who are now married and serving the Lord with their respective families.
Dema Johnson
I was born and raised in Northwest Indiana. As a child my family attended a United Methodist Church. Growing up I never heard the wonderful news of the Gospel. We attended church but I knew something was missing in my life! That was until November of 1992, at age 19, when a friend of a friend named Allen Johnson asked me if I died that day if I would go to Heaven. I gave the common answer of “yes, I’m a good person and all.” He then told me that was not what the Bible taught, and he showed me that I was really a sinner bound for hell, but that Jesus died in my place and rose again. That day I trusted Christ as my Saviour and I am so thankful to God for how He has changed my life. I then was baptized and began to grow in an independent, fundamental Baptist church. The young man who witnessed to me that day became my husband on July 27, 1996, and I am so thankful to the Lord for bringing him into my life. I am excited about serving the Lord with my husband through Wings Bearing Precious Seed. I know from experience how the Word of God can change a life in such a tremendous way. My prayer is that all people of all nations can have a copy of God’s precious Word.
In addition to being a help meet to Allen, Dema homeschooled her children, and is involved in her local church, teaching a ladies’ Sunday School class when she is not traveling. She also speaks at ladies’ meetings and helps coordinate the Wings BPS mission trips.
Ben & Brittney (Johnson) Dods
Brittney Dods grew up in the ministry, was saved at an early age, and has served the Lord both vocationally (teaching in a Christian school) and voluntarily (going on mission trips and serving in the bus and children’s ministry in her church). She lives in Kentucky with her husband and daughters. Brittney loves to read, write, and minister in her local church with her husband, Ben. She also enjoys candle making and is a stay-at-home mom and homemaker. She can be found sharing Bible teaching, thrift hauls, and motherhood content on her Instagram @bluegrassblessings.
